A doctor visit

Today was Sage's 4 month appointment and time for round two of shots. You would think with the modern advances we have in the medical community, they could find a better way to vaccinate a child than to stick her three times!!! It was horrible. Mom went with me because I couldn't bear the thought of having to hold her on that table while they poked her.

Her doctor doesn't want me to start her on baby food until she's 6 months old and then they hand me a paper as I'm leaving stating that it's appropriate anywhere from 4 to 6 months. She is showing all of the signs of being ready for it, even trying to eat MY food. So, she got her first taste of applesauce this evening. The reviews are still out ... she'd open wide and actually grab my hand to put the spoon in her mouth, and then she'd make a face like she wasn't too sure about it. I didn't get any pictures since it was hard enough trying to get the food in her without smacking her in the face with spoon because she was so enthusiastic about helping me with it.

This picture of her is from this morning. She's such a sweetie ... Have I REALLY had these great little hands the whole time???

Always a happy baby ...

I have to admit, I was lucky when I was graced with the little angel I have in my life. She is the easiest and happiest baby and rarely cries. She always has a ready smile for anyone who talks to her and when she wakes up, it's the first thing she flashes for you. She has on a new outfit today and she looks great in the color. I had to take some pictures when we got home this evening because she was all smiles and chattering away like the little monkey she is.

She's been doing really good the last 3 or 4 days with her reflux and I thought maybe we were over her projectile vomitting of her bottles. Unfortunately, it is difficult to keep her thumb and forefinger out of her mouth ... I'm pretty sure she is starting to teeth. When she gets her forefinger in her mouth, it brings on the gag reflex and she spit up her entire bottle this morning at the babysitters. I'm hoping when we visit the doctor on Friday she tells me that we can go ahead and start giving her some baby food and maybe that will help calm her little tummy down some more.

She was laughing at Mommy in this picture because I was telling her that I was going to get her piggies.

Sage and Daddy

This week was busy with Cody having practice and two baseball games. Sage went to MawMaw's on Thursday night so I could go to Cody's game. She's currently taking a little cat nap and I thought I would post a picture of her real quick. She sat up in her bouncy seat the other night for about 30 seconds, all by herself! She's getting so big already. I'm stuck in a quandry of not wanting her to grow out of the baby stage and sitting on the edge of my seat to see what she accomplishes from one day to the next.

Sage doesn't really quite know what to make of Daddy's scruffy face!

On the Run

Well, Easter Sunday was quite the hectic day. We got up and got the kids ready for church. While PJ, Cody and Kaylie were at bible school, Grandma and Buddy were here and then they went to church with Pete. I took Easter pictures of Sage while they were gone and then took pictures of everyone else upon their return. Kaylie went to her grandmothers and we went to Grandma and Buddy's for Easter dinner.

Yesterday, Cody had baseball practice and Pete was working on remodeling the bathroom at Grandma and Judy's house. So, I picked up Sage, ran home and got a ham in the oven, dropped her off at Mom's house and took Cody to practice. Not much time for anything else!!!

Sage is 4 months old today! Can you believe she's that old already? Here are a couple of pictures of the kids from Easter. Enjoy!

New Beginnings

Life is good. And since life is so hectic and not all of my family lives close by, I thought this would be the best way to keep everyone interested updated on Sage. She is 17 weeks old today and the most wonderful little being to grace me with her presence. Yesterday we went to Mom's so that the kids could have an Easter egg hunt a day early and then be home on Easter. Sage, of course, didn't participate. She actually slept in PopPop's lap during the hunt. But Kaylie had lots of fun. She loves going to Mom's to play on the trampoline and since Brittany, Dillon and Kayla were there, she had other kids to play with. We ended up spending most of the day at Mom's since Pete was working and the boys were at their mother's house. Today, we get to play dress up with Sage and Kaylie in their Easter best and take some pictures.

Speaking of pictures, you will get lots here. Especially since I am enrolled in a photography course at New York Institute of Photography. Taking pictures is almost a daily occurrence since I don't want to miss a thing with Sage, and I need the practice if I want to eventually become a pro. So, be prepared to get to see lots of pictures and hopefully it will help make family and friends feel not so far away. To start here are a couple of pictures of Sage and a picture of Kaylie.
